An amazing 3D flip effect on hover can be created by modern HTML and CSS, for simplicity or to show it a bit advanced, you can use JavaScript for it too, in-fact JS would make it a little simple for you. 

Things would get developed more advanced in the coming future, we can't predict it so easily. Might be machines can learn to code by themselves XD, JUST KIDDING, hope this won't happen else we developers would loose our jobs and it would be not so far for machines to rule on humans.
